All three of those events happened within 2 hours and on the same day March 8, 2016. The Moxie Shoppe was commissioned to photograph an event commemorating the Grand Re-opening of a new special Southside laundry. The event invited Alderman Raymond Lopez to see the vision for the Bubbleland laundry which aims to serve the people in and all around 5101 S. Western. The owners of this Bubbleland location are working to cater to the families doing laundry, doing homework, and doing dinner simultaneously.
It just so happens that Women’s day fell on the same day of the anticipated Bubbleland visit. Bubbleland Alderman Raymond Lopez is photographed touring the laundry with owner Yami Newell. Yami is co-owner of the Bubbleland with her brother Atukwe Newell. The photoshoot focused on photographing the tour with the Alderman and development plans for the laundry. The Moxie Shoppe was there to show that Women's day was a special occasion because here was a woman, who was co-owner of a laundry, striving to lighten the load for other families like hers.
The Moxie Shoppe is an art/apparel/photography company started by 3 friends.
